Philanthropist

"Medicine is, at its heart, an act of shared humanity — a bridge between skill and compassion."

From the earliest days of my medical journey, I have been guided by a commitment to health equity, education, and the belief that care should extend beyond the operating rooms and across borders. My work in global health has allowed me to collaborate with remarkable teams and communities, united by a shared purpose — to restore, to empower, and to heal.

In South Africa, I began as a medical student volunteering in township clinics; in Bangladesh, I joined the Women for Women mission alongside Ruma Khan and The Emirates Foundation; in Uganda, I performed reconstructive surgery for burns and congenital clefts; in Malawi, I taught hand surgery to local medical teams through the British Society for Surgery of the Hand (BSSH); and in Zambia, I helped develop surgical training with BFIRST, training and supporting the establishment of the Zambian Hand Service.

Closer to home in the UK, I remain devoted to community service — volunteering in local soup kitchens and supporting outreach programmes for vulnerable communities, a gentle reminder that compassion begins not with distance travelled, but with human connection. As a lifelong nature lover, I also dedicate time to volunteering in the protection of local nature reserves, finding solace and inspiration in the quiet resilience of the natural world.

In both my clinical and charitable work, I continue to mentor the next generation of surgeons, teaching medical students from London universities and the University of Cambridge. These experiences have shaped not only my understanding of surgery but my understanding of humanity — that true progress in medicine is measured not by recognition, but by the lives quietly changed.

“Medicine is, at its heart, an act of shared humanity.”

My commitment to care has never ended at the clinic door. Throughout my career, I have worked in South Africa, Bangladesh, Uganda and Malawi, delivering reconstructive surgery and helping train local surgical teams — experiences that shaped my understanding of compassion, resilience, and what it truly means to serve and aspire to make a meaningful difference.

Darlands Conservation Trust

As a lifelong lover of the natural world, I also support the Darlands Conservation Trust, returning to the nature reserve where I grew up — a place that offered me peace and solace through many difficult moments. I contribute both financially and through hands-on conservation work to help protect and restore the landscape that shaped me.

International Group at St Martin-in-the-Fields

Closer to home, I support the International Group at St Martin-in-the-Fields, where I volunteer my time to help feed the homeless and those seeking refuge in London. A proportion of every consultation at Glow is donated to sustain their essential work.
