Arm Lift

Following significant weight loss, ageing, or changes in skin tone, the upper arms can lose firmness and definition. The result — often described as “loose” or “sagging” skin — may feel at odds with how fit or youthful you truly are. An arm lift, or brachioplasty, restores a smoother, more toned contour by removing excess skin and refining the underlying shape of the upper arm.

For many, this procedure is the final step in a major transformation, revealing the contours that hard work and dedication have already achieved. For others, it’s simply a way to restore confidence and comfort in clothing, whether sleeveless or fitted.

During the procedure, excess skin and soft tissue are gently removed, and the remaining skin is redraped to create a firmer, more refined outline. Incisions are carefully placed along the inner arm, where they fade discreetly with time. The result is an arm that feels lighter, smoother, and naturally in proportion with the rest of the body.

Every patient’s story is different. During consultation, I take time to understand your goals, lifestyle, and priorities to design a bespoke plan that feels authentic to you — whether you wish for subtle refinement or a complete reshaping after major weight loss.

Final results

As swelling eases and healing progresses, the arms gradually take on a smoother, more defined contour. Scars soften over time, blending gently with surrounding skin. The final result is a lighter, firmer arm shape that moves freely and feels in balance with your body.

For many, an arm lift brings more than aesthetic refinement — it restores ease, confidence, and pride in the body they’ve worked hard to achieve. My goal is to help you feel comfortable and confident, with results that look natural, refined, and entirely your own.

  • 1. Who is suitable for an arm lift?

An arm lift may be suitable for men and women who have loose or sagging skin on the upper arms following significant weight loss, ageing, or loss of skin elasticity. It is ideal for those whose weight has stabilised and who wish to restore contour and tone.

  • 2. Will an arm lift remove fat as well as skin?

Yes, some fat can be removed during the procedure, either through direct excision or gentle liposuction, to smooth the arm’s contour. If excess fat is the main concern, liposuction alone may be an alternative.

  • 3. Where will the scars be?

Scars are typically placed along the inner arm, running from the armpit to the elbow, where they are least visible. They fade gradually over 6–12 months and become fine, pale lines.

  • 4. Is recovery painful?

Discomfort is mild to moderate and easily managed with pain relief. Tightness or swelling is normal during the first few weeks and improves steadily.

  • 5. When can I return to normal activities?

Most patients return to work after about two weeks and resume light exercise after six weeks. Heavy lifting and strenuous upper-body activity should be avoided for around eight weeks.

  • 6. Will the results last?

Yes — results are long-lasting, especially if you maintain a stable weight and active lifestyle. While the natural ageing process continues, the improved contour and firmness remain for many years.

  • 7. What are the risks?

Risks include swelling, bruising, infection, delayed wound healing, or minor asymmetry. In experienced hands, complications are rare, and careful aftercare ensures a smooth recovery and beautiful result.
